Abstract

The aim of the study is to present the possibility of using the case method in the implementation of subjects in the field of food and nutrition technology and quality sciences by undergraduate and postgraduate students of the UE in Wroclaw. The undergraduate students were to present, in essay form, an example from their own experience of enabling process improvement based on the use of FMEA cause and effect analysis. In essay and presentation form, level II students were to show the dishonesty of food manufacturers and scandals that have shaken consumers' faith in food safety. The use of the case method resulted in the fact that the persons applying it could use the FMEA analysis in a practical aspect, present irregularities, and indicate preventive and improvement actions. The case method is educational both for students and the teacher because it forces him to look for such didactic solutions to apply the theory in practice.(original abstract)
