About the Journal
The journal Economics of the 21st Century has, for three decades, successfully promoted the scholarly achievements of researchers representing leading Polish universities in such fields as microeconomics, macroeconomics, economic policy, international economics, institutional economics, ecological economics, international business, and the economics of cities and regions. Publishing scientific articles in Polish supports the dissemination of specialized economic terminology and the popularization of research findings within the national academic and expert community. At the same time, the presence of authors and reviewers affiliated with foreign research institutions, as well as articles published in English, fosters the internationalization of Polish scholarship by integrating our researchers into the global academic discourse. Economics of the 21st Century promotes the achievements of Polish economic thought, addressing issues such as economic transformation, innovation, and the green and digital transition.
The subject matter of the scientific articles published in Economics of the 21st Century - including topics such as economic policy, the labor market, public finance, sustainable development, and the energy transition - plays a significant role in public debate and economic practice. The published texts examine both contemporary economic and social challenges, as well as the historical and institutional determinants of economic development, thereby fostering a better understanding of processes occurring at the local, national, and global levels. The analyses presented in the journal provide valuable substantive content that may serve policymakers, representatives of local governments and businesses, and expert communities. Open access publication of articles, along with the growing internationalization of the journal’s authors and reviewers over the years, creates an opportunity for Economics of the 21st Century to establish a lasting presence in the international discussion on the directions of economic development in the new century, thereby enhancing the visibility of Polish researchers’ achievements in a broader global context.
