Econometrics is published by the Wrocław University of Economics and Business (Uniwersytet Ekonomiczny we Wrocławiu) and has appeared continuously since 1996. The journal serves a dual mission that reflects its unique position in the international academic landscape.
Internationalisation
All articles are published exclusively in English, ensuring that research conducted in Poland and internationally reaches a global readership. The journal maintains an international Scientific Council, engages reviewers from around the world, and attracts authors from diverse countries and research traditions. Inclusion in international indexing services – EBSCO, DOAJ, ERIH PLUS, CEEOL, IDEAS (RePEc), Google Scholar, Biblioteka Nauki, BazEkon, Dolnośląska Biblioteka Cyfrowa (Lower Silesian Digital Library), among others – further strengthens the journal’s visibility in the global scientific community. A rigorous double-blind peer-review process and Open Access policy guarantee both quality and unrestricted accessibility of every published article.
Dissemination and Popularisation of Polish Science
While publishing in English, the journal is rooted in the traditions of Polish economic, statistical, and econometric thought. It operates under the patronage of the Committee of Statistics and Econometrics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. A significant proportion of its articles present research carried out by scholars affiliated with Polish universities and research centres, addressing topics of particular relevance to the Polish and international economy, including macro- and microeconomic and regional analyses, statistical and econometric modelling, applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence, capital investment and insurance, as well as social and demographic issues such as education, poverty, sustainable development, and social exclusion. By making these findings available in English and in Open Access, the journal actively promotes Polish scientific achievements, analytical approaches, and methodological innovations to the international community, contributing to the recognition and visibility of Polish science worldwide. Publication is entirely free of charge, and every accepted article receives professional language editing by a native English speaker.
