Abstract

Small towns are experiencing a crisis during the period of socio-economic perturbations, including the formation of a new economy. Their functioning in contemporary realities is subject to major threats. Research conducted on the scale of the Lower Silesia region indicates that towns with good locations and performing specific exogenous functions function better than others. During the pandemic, the weakest small towns endured this situation in a gentler way in relation to economic indicators.
