Author Guidelines

Articles should be prepared using a pre-designed template.

  1. Biblioteka Regionalisty publishes in English and Polish.
  2. Call for papers ends each year on January 31st.
  3. Any information concerning editorial requirements of a submitted text and a way of preparing a list of references can be found in the template of the article in the upper part of the page.
  4. The length of an article shall be within the limits of 8-12 pages.
  5. The article should be accompanied by:
    1. an abstract in Polish and English languages (separate text consisting of approximately 100 words, which read in isolation from the rest of work informs about its content; it should consist of such elements as formulation of research goal, identification of research subject, essence of the employed method and the most important results and proposals),
    2. keywords (from 3 to 5) in Polish and English languages,
    3. JEL classification codes (JEL Classification System).
  6. Articles are checked using anti-plagiarism system of iThenticate.
  7. Articles submitted for a review should not include their authors’ data because reviewing of articles takes place in double-blind review process (an author and a reviewer do not know the identity of each other).
  8. Articles submitted after a review should include the first name and surname of author/authors, affiliation of author/authors, e-mail address of author/authors and alternatively the source of funding.
  9. Reviews are available for authors in OJS.

Submission length

Minimum accepted submission length is 24 000 characters with spaces (about 5.5 pages). The upper limit is 32 000 characters (about 7 pages). Articles that exceed this limit are subject to additional fee of 50 PLN per page, charged upon acceptance of the submission. The hard upper limit of submission length is 60 000 characters (about 13 pages) – going over this limit will result in automatic rejection.

Fee

This journal has a fee waiver policy. Authors from developing countries are exempt from publication fee and their articles are published free of charge. If you are affiliated with an institution based outside of Poland, please make sure to provide the full name of this organization on your user profile or in the "Comments for Editor" section of the submission form.

Following the Order of the Rector of the University of Economics in Wrocław No. 2/2024, authors not eligible for exemption pay a fee in the amount of:

  • 369 zł (300 zł + 23% VAT) after having obtained 2 positive reviews and having accepted an article for publication.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Authors working with us retain copyright over their work. They may self-archive their manuscript on any website or repository. However, we ask that they acknowledge the Publishing House of Wroclaw University of Economics and Business as the definitive source of their work, as well as the version of the record (submitted, accepted, published). There is no embargo period.
