Profesor Tadeusz Gerstenkorn (7.02.1927 – 25.12.2021 )

Abstract

Professor Tadeusz Gerstenkorn was born on February 7, 1927 in Łódź, as the elder of two sons of Jan (an accountant by profession) and Stanisława Gerstenkorn. Before the war, he completed six-grade primary school and began his education at a public junior high school and high school. The war forced him to interrupt his studies, although he was only 14 years old, he had to work because this was the order of the German authorities. He worked in the brewery of Karol Anstadt's successors until the liberation of Łódź on January 19, 1945. In 1945, he obtained the so-called small high school leaving exam at the Gimnazjum im. M. Copernicus University, and in 1946 he graduated from the Secondary School for Adults.
