Analiza kształtowania się cen wybranych surowców w okresie pandemii COVID-19

Abstract

The paper focuses on the price development of selected raw materials between January 2018 and April 2022. Its most important aim is to analyze the increase in prices in commodity and agricultural markets, which has been observed since mid-2020, and to demonstrate a significant growth in the volatility. Two sub-periods were distinguished from the research period: 2018-2019 and 2020-2021 and the basic risk measures were calculated for them, which are: variances, standard deviations, and coefficients of variation. The research was based on the selected literature of the subject and publicly available data sorces. In the work the analysis of secondary data (desk research) and the study of the selected literature were used. The conducted research significantly proves the substantial increase in price fluctuations in these markets.(original abstract)
