Economic Psychology in Poland. Do Economists Need Psychologists and Psychologists – Economists?

The primary function of economics, an interdisciplinary science, is to explain human action. This is not possible based solely on economic modeling. For this purpose, economics needs psychology and sociology. Thanks to such cooperation, economic subdisciplines arise. The aim of the article is to analyze the problem of the formation of sciences on the border of economics and psychology in terms of the subject and methodology. The considerations made are based on research in the area of economic methodology, economic psychology, behavioral economics, and experimental economics. An additional advantage is the use of the results of empirical research in the analysis of the relationship between economics and psychology by means of interviews with specialists and questionnaire research.Downloads
